I recently started using the Aveeno Face CALM+RESTORE Oat Rich Balm after having a lot of breakouts on my nose, following using a rather abrasive retinol cream. This it has quickly become a staple in my skincare routine. Here’s why I highly recommend it: Deep Moisturization: This balm provides exceptional hydration for my very dry and irritated skin. I literally noticed the difference after one use (at nighttime) Soothing Formula: The inclusion of oat extract is a game-changer for soothing irritation and redness. Moisturises well, though without an oily feel, and eases irritated skin whilst causing no flare ups. Is good as a night cream over other treatments - due to its calming effects, it's a good counter for the irritation which might be caused by retinol/retinal or AHA serums, though I don't use it on nights when my skin felt drier, when I use another, gloopier moisturiser. Used over a serum, however, it does leave a slight, white residue, which takes a moment to rub in/disappear, so I tend to use it on days when I'm not wearing makeup. I've used it once under makeup - and it was fine with no primer, which my skin loathes, though as a base it was quite mattifying. Will definitely be buying more - it's one of those creams I'll reach for first when my skin feels overdone, out of sorts, and generally needing a more pared back, gentle approach.

Sine I have been using the balm I have noticed my skin on my face feels less dry and sore. The redness has decreased slightly. The cream is quite thick although I have found it absorbs quite well when rub into my skin gently for a couple of minutes. Skin feels softer. There is a slight odour but nothing offensive and it does disappear once applied. Hopefully this will help protect soften and keep moisture in my skin.

Just love this whole calm and restore range it's so gentle on ur skin and soothing something I deffo need wen I'm starting off or going up a strength with my tretinoin moisturises lovely and calms my skin

I like Aveeno products as they are good quality and value for money. However I do find this balm a little greasy on my face which puts me off. I thought it would be more like a gel and disappear into the skin but it leaves quite a residue.
